Can anyone please tell me,Zakynthos   was plagued with garbage and rubbish pile up from the last 3 months.

From what I read in several articles, residents from a certain area of the island blocked the land fill from

disposing the garbage. As of January 2017, the situation was suppose to be resolved. Has the situation been rectified ?

Will this effect tourism this summer ? I am planning on vacationing in Tsilivi this July and I'm concerned about the garbage pile up and what areas of Zakynthos it has affected ? Health concerns, etc................? Can

anyone give me an update as to what is going on ?
